Selenite is a glassy, crystallized form of gypsum and is sometimes also referred to as Satin Spar. Selentite crystal is relatively soft (when compared to some other crystals) and because of this it has been known to form in odd shapes. Most commonly, Selenite and sand form a Desert Rose.
Selenite is a wonderful display piece and looks great on its own and would make a wonder addition as a Ritual Prop, or altar dressing.. or for those that play a mystic Gypsy type, an alternative to a crystal ball!
One of the wonderful things about this cystal is that when you display a piece on an LED stand for example, it really glows with the colour of the light (see below). Perfect whether you are a collector or just someone who likes the finer things.
